Thrive Community School is a free k to 8 Public Charter School here in Santa Fe New Mexico we focus on social emotional learning to make sure we're focusing on student well-being and we focus on evidence-based teaching to make sure students have access to rigorous academics learning social emotional awareness especially in kindergarten has been very crucial to their learning social emotional Learning and Development is what makes it so they can be successful academically we do have really high expectations for students here and we um we hold them to a high bar because we know that they can do it and when they see that we have as high expectations they meet them we also do a lot of evidence-based teaching and practices so we really look at the research when we're making a decision um of what's going to serve our students best I can see the most incredible growth with the students that came to us as struggling readers seeing them come in almost as non-readers to being caught up to their grade level peers is something that all students and staff should be really proud of my teachers have helped me so much that I've achieved the top 80% of people reading in America but ever since I gave them the Thrive like in my reading level has always gone up and up I've seen my daughters really grow and their confidence and their love for school they're eager to come to school they're excited to learn I really think a lot of that is through the focus on the social emotional component of the classroom and that has carried over into their home life just be prepared for a lot of joy to come home each day students are going to have stories of feeling included and feeling supported inclusivity is so important here at Thrive because we're a public school and so we just serve everyone we do it really well because we meet students where they are when academic Excellence meets emotional intelligence students don't just learn they thrive learn more and enroll now
